Items checked in the Lebanese mechanical inspection
The official Lebanese inspection checks 132 points over four stages, and a car passes or fails on five main areas: identification, lighting, brakes and tyres, alignment, and exhaust emissions. Our inspection goes through all of them.
Lights and signals
- Front and rear lamps working and not broken
- Full vehicle lighting, including brake lights
- Indicators
- Number plate lamps
Glass, mirrors and wipers
- Windscreen: no crack longer than 30 cm
- No tint on the windscreen or front windows that blocks the view inside
- Mirrors
- Wipers
Body and cabin
- No protruding parts that could injure others
- Front doors open and close from inside and outside
- Horn
- Seatbelts
- Steering wheel
- Fuel cap present and sealing
Tyres and wheels
- Tyres roadworthy and of the same type
- Rims and wheel bolts
- Mudguards and wheel arches
Exhaust emissions and leaks
- Carbon monoxide (CO) below 4.5%
- Hydrocarbons (HC) below 1000 ppm
- No oil or fuel leaks, and no visible faults around the car
Shock absorbers
- Shock absorber test on all four wheels on the test bench
- Damping measured by vibration frequency

- Front brakes

Common questions
The official mechanical inspection is suspended. Why check my car?
The official inspection has been suspended since May 2022, but worn brakes, bald tyres and broken lights are just as dangerous. Our check shows what needs fixing for your safety, and keeps your car ready for when the inspection returns. It is not an official inspection certificate.
Do you check the engine and gearbox too?
The official inspection only looks at the gearbox from underneath for leaks and damage; it does not test how the engine or gearbox run. For a pre-purchase inspection we recommend adding computer diagnostics, which reads the engine and gearbox modules.
Can you fix what you find?
Yes, for the repairs our workshop carries out, such as brakes, suspension, lights and servicing. We give you the price first and only start once you agree.
